Target Creative Studio’s Sheridan Edsall and BMF’s Brigitte Davies took home Best Emerging Designer and Best Emerging Talent awards at the international Real Media Awards.

Formerly known as the Australasian Catalogue Awards, the 28th annual awards held on Friday 30th August in Melbourne, celebrated excellence in design and talent across real media channels - catalogue marketing, publishing, direct mail, point of sale, marketing efficacy and more across Australia and New Zealand.

Crowned as this year’s Best Emerging Designer award, Sheridan Edsall of Target Creative Studio was recognised for her ‘best in class’ and consistent quality of work. Sheridan won this award over tough competition including Sophie Hall of PFG Australia, Nikki Maras of Big W, Dana Al Habel of BMF and Maria Angelica Flores of GP Advertising.

“I am delighted to be taking home this prestigious award tonight, especially over a pool of strong finalists. A special thanks to my team at Target Creative Studio, The Real Media Collective and everyone involved for their recognition. I’m over the moon,” beamed Sheridan.

“Sheridan brings a positive energy to the broader Marketing team, and commands the respect of all stakeholders across the business and externally. Sheridan is to be commended and celebrated for her attitude, work ethic, and for leading by example, setting a high standard for others to aspire to,” said Mary Stradiotto, Marketing Operations Manager, Target.

Taking home this year’s Best Emerging Talent, Brigitte Davies of BMF was recognised for her proven leadership, continual improvement and focus across client and agency projects competing against her peers Kelvin Mui and Zane Hilder, Finalists also from BMF and Jacqui Erskine, J Walter Thompson and Yousif Hurmiz Zia, Ovato Limited.

“Despite being a new manager, Brigette has taken on the role of developing her three direct reports like a pro, and has a total team of eight looking to her for guidance and support, all while she runs her own project team at BMF with unrelenting efficiency and enviable attention to even the smallest detail,” said Amelia Nolan, Account Director, BMF.

Brigette said it was an honour to be recognised as an emerging talent in the industry.

“Thank you to everyone at BMF for your encouragement, support and guidance, I couldn’t be here without you. A special congratulations to my colleagues and finalists Kevin Mui and Zane Hilder,” said Brigitte.

Kellie Northwood, Chief Executive Officer, The Real Media Collective said that the caliber of talent and design across the industry is something to celebrate, and the finalists in both categories should not be overlooked.

“I love these two Awards the most out of all on the night, the absolute joy these awards bring to people building their careers and delivering success in their early phases is tremendous to watch. I wish all the Finalists wonderful careers ahead and I’m sure they’ll be our future industry heroes,” commented Northwood.

“The Real Media Collective Awards are about celebrating and showcasing talent and creative design throughout the year, and that includes the entry level talent that will continue to mold and shape this industry for years to come. Congratulations to all winners and finalists, I look forward to following your incredible careers and the level of design and campaigns you will no doubt continue to output,” concluded Northwood.
