Browse EventsThe Graduate of the Year Awards (GOTYA) is the Design Institute of Australia’s flagship program for emerging designers.
GOTYA is a unique program created to support and celebrate exceptional designers from around Australia in the early stages of their career.
This program is instrumental in providing tertiary institutions and design graduates with vital, reallife feedback from experienced designers and industry figures.
Tertiary institutions are invited to nominate 6 graduates per category per state, selected not only on their work but also their work ethic and perceived ability to transfer their skills to the workplace.
Nominee portfolios will be anonymously evaluated on their design excellence based on a transparent judging process and criteria. Finalists will be interviewed by a panel of judges to determine their transferable workplace skills and predicted impact on the Australian design industry.
GOTYA winners have the opportunity to gain mentorships, win prizes, meet potential employers and most importantly receive acknowledgement and engagement from the design community.
