Don’t listen to the haters: there is never a dull moment in the world of copyright…

This year marks the second year of celebrations of 50 years of the Copyright Act in Australia, and we have many new exciting events in store.

Firstly, our 19th Biennial Copyright Law & Practice Symposium will be held at the Powerhouse Museum, on October 22-23. Mark your calanders, we have some special international guests, and much to discuss in the currently fast paced, ever changing world of Copyright.

Along with this major event, we have 6 books to release, a National Seminar Series to complete, a more comprehensive focus on our Customising Training for our industry partners, affiliates, schools, and anyone involved in the creation, or use, of Copyright protected material. We'll continue to run our specialised disputes masterclasses, and we'll be presenting the 50th anniversary 19th Biennial Copyright Law & Practice Symposium, including our biennial GC O'Donnel prize. The competition is in honour of the late Gus O’Donnell, author and founder of the Australian Copyright Council and leading thinker on copyright in Australia.

A prize of $3,500 will be awarded to the author of an essay displaying original thinking on a topic of the author’s choice regarding copyright and the protection of the interests of authors.

We'll we answer your interesting and complex copyright questions, run our new regional webinars, and try to keep all our staff sane in the process!
