#AGDAQLDCoasters Design Competition Brief

Do you like an ice cold bevvy & good design but detest water marks? Well then, we’ve got some great news! We want you to design two coasters for our upcoming After Hours event!

We are looking for two rad coaster designs, each about the two key elements of this month’s After Hours: paper and beer!

The winner will get:

  • Their designs printed on Ball & Doggett’s primo Beer Matt Board 390gsm stock (kindly donated by Ball & Doggett, kudos amigos)
  • A one-on-one session to print their coasters with the legend himself, Clint Harvey at the Bacon Factory (either on Saturday 23rd or Sunday 24th February 2019)
  • A free ticket to the After Hours event on Wednesday 27th February 2019 at The Bacon Factory
  • A rad stack of your freshly printed coasters to keep
  • A potential new inky obsession

 

Entries close on the Friday 15th February at 6pm, so get on with it and show off your rad skills!

Your designs can be anything your heart desires, they just need to meet the following criteria:

  • Design two separate coasters, one beer themed and one paper themed.
  • The beer themed coaster design must feature the Gage Road Brewing Co logo (eps supplied below).
  • The paper themed coaster design must feature the Ball & Doggett logo (eps supplied below).
  • The coaster will be a circle, consider this when creating your design.
  • Share your designs on Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #agdaqldcoasters and tagging @agdaqld or AGDA Queensland
  • Artwork must be supplied in vector format, solid shapes (no strokes), no tints/shades and at 90mm x 90mm.
  • Artwork cannot be thinner than 0.25mm at any point due to physical limitations of a letterpress plate. Artwork must be submitted by the deadline (Friday 15th February at 6pm). Submit your artwork using the shared folder platform of your choice (Dropbox, Google Drive) to agdaqueensland@gmail.com. Note: We are requesting artwork in advance to help with the tight printing turn around between the announcement and the event.

T&C’s: By entering the competition, the entrant grants AGDA a non-exclusive right to modify and reproduce the design. The entrant retains their intellectual property and usage rights of their submitted designs. The entrant also agrees that if chosen as the winner, small alterations may be required to the artwork in order to make your design suitable for the letterpress process. Due to tight timelines, we cannot guarantee that we can consult with you prior to the alterations or printing. (but we promise to only make changes that we absolutely have to!) Only the winning entry artwork files will be retained and printed. Any entries we receive may be shared on our social media channels and those of our sponsors. The winner will be decided by the AGDA Queensland Council and announced on the 18th February 2019 through our social media channels.
