AGDA has embarked on an overhaul of the AGDA Hall of Fame to redress the imbalance of representation of the design industry in Australia.
This initiative is to include the research of significant contributors to Australian design between the years of 1900 and 1980 with only loose consideration to the current set of criteria for induction.
This will produce a list of designers and practitioners whose collective experience and working history will help us refine the induction criteria to provide a better balance of representation on the Hall of Fame.
Contributions to our industry can come from individual designers, group collectives, studios and agencies, movements, industry supporters and partners. This initiative aims to recognise the impact on our industry from these people, regardless of their culture, age, regionality, sexuality, or gender.
AGDA will curate an event to announce the outcomes of this initiative in Melbourne, March 2019.Back to News
