Your opportunity to join the Victorian Design delegation to Hong Kong.

In December 2017 the Victorian Government will host a delegation of Victorian design businesses to attend Hong Kong Business of Design Week.

Victorian designers and design businesses are encouraged to apply for financial assistance to join the Hong Kong Design Trade Mission. Business of Design Week is a showcase of global design talent, brands and innovation, attracting over 120,000 attendees from around the world. Italy is the official partner city for 2017, while Melbourne has been selected as partner city for the event in 2018.

Hong Kong Business of Design Week 2017 will take place from 4-9 December. The Victorian Design Trade Mission will give local designers and design-led businesses the opportunity to explore business development opportunities, showcase their products, projects and services to potential buyers, stockists, partners and media representatives from across the globe. Delegates will take part in a program of events, meetings and activities designed to strengthen business connections and create new export opportunities.

Support of $2,000 is available for each of 25 Victorian businesses to be part of the Trade Mission to assist with the cost of airfares, ground transport and accommodation. The selected companies will also receive specialist market entry training and advice from Asialink Business prior to departure. Full program guidelines and information on how to apply are here: Program Guidelines and Application

Please note that companies not eligible / successful in securing assistance through the program are still welcome to join the delegation, and participate in official events as part of Business of Design Week at their own cost. Please contact Dora Deka at dora.deka@ecodev.vic.gov.au to register interest.

Applications to the program must be submitted via the Creative Victoria Grants Portal, by 13 September 2017.
