Annette Harcus
Founder / Harcus Design

Annette Harcus established Harcus Design an eon ago, with the green blitheness of youth in 1982, a couple of years after completing her Vis Com degree at Sydney College of the Arts (now UTS). Over (almost) 40 years in the design profession, Harcus Design has developed a reputation for excellent creative thinking and importantly, its successful realization. ‘Head down, make the work and make it happen ~ better than you ever envisaged… the full nose to tail process is what makes it nerve wracking and immensely exciting’.

Spanning across the disciplines of visual identity, brand collateral and three dimensional work ~ specifically packaging and large scale environmental graphics, the work has been consistently recognised, winning national and international awards, and featured in many publications and exhibitions. Key to the success has been the fostering of strong client relationships resulting in mutually beneficial, long-standing business partnerships.

Blah, blah…but Annette has sat on the advisory boards like the Curriculum Revue for the University of Technology Sydney, TAFE, served repeatedly as a judge for various national design awards and is a regular speaker around Australia.

Recently honoured and inducted into the AGDA Hall of Fame in 2018, Annette notes ‘Not stopping, now is the time to be a designer!
