After the success of our Money Talks Q&A event in 2015, we're bringing it back. This year our panel will talk about the business of design, what you need to know when starting out, and your real value in being a designer in the big, wide world.

The night will feature a diverse panel of three creatives with experience in owning and operating their own business, plus a finance expert who specialises in working with like-minded creatives on a daily basis. How they quote; how much the charge; their experiences with clients, either good or bad; and what advice they have for designers.

Stephen Castledine - Casteldine & Castledine
Stephen Castledine started Casteldine & Casteldine in 1994 with his partner Mikaela, an award-winning fine artist. The studio handles a wide range of projects for clients large and small. With over 30 years of experience in design, Stephen has helped define the brands of some of our state’s largest organisations. With his work being recognised both locally and internationally, he is considered to be one of the forefathers of the Perth design scene.

Paul Clarke - VentureCast
Formerly a recording artist, producer and songwriter, Paul’s transformation into business life over a 30 year period has featured a unique blend of musical experiences and an extremely broad level of commercial experience; from touring with the likes of Gary Numan to working with household names such as Adidas, Coca Cola, Honda and BMW. This entrepreneurial flair is further evidenced by Paul's position on the Boards of several UK and Australian businesses covering marketing, cloud business planning tools, sports display manufacturing and compliance software. In addition, he also provides business and marketing consulting services to Perth companies and State and Federal Government organisations.

Patrick Horneman, Media Super
Patrick Horneman is a Business Development Manager with Media Super, an industry superannuation fund specialising in print, media, entertainment and arts professionals. He has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, joining the Media Super team in 2011 after working at one of Australia’s largest banking firms. Patrick enjoys helping members to better understand their superannuation and achieve better retirement outcomes.
