A practical approach to innovation!

Learn and practice design thinking for real!

“The mind that opens up to a new idea never returns to its original size.”
Albert Einstein

Design Thinking is a practical, human centered approach that accelerates innovation and solves complex problems. To understand design thinking and start working or living using this mindset, we need to internalize three basic values – EMPATHY, COLLABORATION and EXPERIMENTATION.

Design thinking changes your mindset while your thoughts and decisions will always be human centered, you learn to envision opportunities in problems and to question the toughest questions, you start to build to think and ultimately you become a innovator that are able to encounter risks and learn from mistakes that can lead you for real impactful solutions

As a mindset, design thinking enables you to design solutions that are desirable. By testing and iterating solutions, you can deliver appropriate, actionable, and tangible strategies through three different lenses: feasibility, viability and desirability. The solutions that emerge at the end of the Human-Centered Design process should hit the overlap of these three lenses generating real innovation.

The Experience
This highly energetic 3-day program will give you a common level of understanding on the Design Thinking principles, key tools & terminology. The focus of this course will be hands-on following exactly what we believe in: learning by doing.

Our program is based on the three main values of Design Thinking: empathy, collaboration and experimentation and it goes beyond. During the three-day program, students complete two real projects using the approach.

What you will learn

  • How to successfully innovate after going through two real Design Thinking projects;
  • A mindset to solve complex problems;
  • Pratical tools to become empathic, to colaborate and to prototype any idea.

How you will feel

  • Better equipped to collaborate effectively in a diversified group of participants;
  • Better equipped to learn from your internal and external clients and to quickly prototype in order to generate innovative solutions;
  • Confidence in your creative skills;
  • Confidence to apply the key tools to solve any challenge you may face.

Design Thinking values
To understand Design Thinking and start working or living under its mental model, we need to internalise three fundamental values: empathy, collaboration and experimentation.

Internalising these three values means changing mental and working models, because it forces us to get up from our chairs, go out on the streets, work in groups, co-create, listen to each other, build upon someone else’s idea and, of course, experiment and take risks.

Tools you will learn

  • Double Diamond;
  • Design Challenge;
  • ET (yes - an extraterrestrial!);
  • User + need + insight;
  • User board;
  • Stakeholder map;
  • Persona;
  • Journey map;
  • Structured techniques for brainstorming;
  • Quick, dirty and cheap prototyping;

Who this course is for

  • For those in need to innovate with the goal of bringing solutions to challenges of our emerging new world;
  • For the restless who are constantly searching for self-improvement and knowledge;

“During the course, some paradigms that I carried in my last 5 years linking entrepreneurship and innovation evaporated in a matter of minutes! A great moment of the course is to create a democratic space for people dissatisfied with the status quo of their companies, cities or lives, the way they learn how to practice a new business. Nothing transcendental, esoteric or self-help! It’s creativity applied to business itself!”

“I am very grateful for having participated in the design thinking experience course. It has introduced me to a new mindset and knowledge that will help me change the way I approach my own business and my clients’ projects. The toolkit provided is very helpful and a great reference tool for the future. This was a great and valuable experience I would highly recommend to anyone that is searching for a new way of working (no matter what work they do) and a new mindset. I left the course feeling inspired and ready to start practicing design thinking in my own business.”
