Once a year, the communication design industry from Australia, New Zealand and beyond, come together in one place, at one time, to recognise talent and celebrate achievement.

This year, Melbourne takes its turn as the host city for the AGDA Design Awards 2018. A specially curated weekend of events, entertainment and lifelong memories awaits.


Friday 9th November

The program starts on the Friday night with Design/Live — a unique live design experience and awards welcome party fused into one.

Taking place in the incredible surrounds of LCI Melbourne’s brand new Collingwood campus. The event will see 20 aspiring designers taking on a live 90 minute design brief, their screens projected onto the walls of the building as they work. With local DJs setting the soundtrack, this is the perfect setting to connect with your fellow award attendees and kick things off as you mean to go on.


Saturday 10th November

Saturday evening is the awards event itself, to be held at Peninsular, a former loading shed on the waterfront of Victoria Harbour, now fully converted into a spectacular venue of industrial elegance, modeled on London’s Tate Modern.

Here, you will be treated to an incredible awards evening curated by Melbourne event production specialists Interweave Group. With a tailored menu, exclusive beer and wine suppliers, local DJs and MC duties taken care of by Four Pillars Distillery founder Stuart Gregor and industry insider Cat Wall, this will be the perfect backdrop as we celebrate the best design work and the talent behind it.


Sunday 11th November
