Portrait of Kate Owen
A brilliant example of how thoughtful design can bring joy and longevity to our lives that revolve around consumption and waste. Especially fantastic given the product is packaging for toilet paper – a usually ubiquitous item that has reached new status in 2020. Anecdotes from parents who reused the individual toilet roll wrappers for wrapping kids birthday presents, and the obvious fun and inherent creativity for kids to be able to use the boxes as cubbies made this one of my favourites in the Design Effectiveness Category. An exemplar of how design should be. Kate Owen, Juror
Portrait of Matt Remphrey
I have been a huge fan of this project ever since I became aware of it — when a box of it landed on my doorstep. When I read about the sales figures and customer engagement through socials, I couldn’t go past it for my Judge’s Choice. This is an excellent case study demonstrating the very real link between creativity and commerce. Bravo Garbett and Who Gives a Crap. Matt Remphrey, Juror
