I always believe at looking outside of your own design practice to inspire, influence and innovate in your work. Good design appropriates that. Here, design idea is translated into a 3D form. By reimagining the sculptural possibilities of having two glass goblets joined together, which coincidentally hints at an hourglass shape, this shows an intelligent way to play with the concept of ‘celebrating time’ through good design thinking and craft. It creates a dialogue where the past and the future are intertwined and would be meaningless in the absence of one another. This piece establishes a relationship between content and its form, and is aesthetically powerful, functional yet symbolic. A nod to the art of entertaining where it is simply well-executed, and the human experience is elevated, engaged and inspired. I can only imagine all the interesting conversations and fun interaction that have had at the dinner table. Cheers to a job well done!Darren Song, Juror
