18.01.16 / AGDA & Billy Blue Presents / Jessica Walsh

Play by Your Own Rules

In her talk, Play by Your Own Rules, Jessica speaks about the value of play, and its biological and historical significance. She discusses how play lies at the heart of any creative process which requires innovation, and how one can enter this state mind.

Play is crucial to Jessica’s own development and career path.

“Every great game has a strict set of rules, and I think the same goes for design. I think limitations help creativity thrive. It’s difficult to do something great when the possibilities are endless,” Jessica explains.

“I promise at least a few laughs, as well.”

Jessica Walsh

Jessica turned down a six figure job offer straight out of university to take an internship with Paula Scher at Pentagram. Now a successful partner at Sagmeister and Walsh, she has also risen to fame documenting her dating life on the blog and subsequent book, “40 Days of Dating”.
