A Cover to Make the iPad User-friendly for the Blind

For the 2011 IDEA Award, designer Jayson D’Alessandro has made the iPad more user-friendly for the visually impaired.
D’Alessandro has designed an iPad cover that transforms part of the iPad’s surface into a Braille keyboard. The Omnifer uses gas to expand the Braille up and down depending on the light signals coming from the screen.
