New York Vernacular Presented by Emily Tenzer Santoro (Pratt Institute) in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth

Emily Tenzer Santoro, Adjunct Instructor at Pratt Institute, Queens College and New York University and SUN/FIT, brings her background in anthropology (BA, Barnard College, 1984) to the culture of graphic design. This feeds her understanding of the social codes that factor into design projects.

“Social codes and visual perception have a relationship to each other. It’s basic semiotics — the language of graphic design.”

Workshop
Emily will be conducting an interactive workshop for secondary school teachers, university lecturers, industry professionals, senior students and graduates. The workshop will explore concepts, creative thinking and visualisation. The workshop provides the opportunity to work through a design brief with Emily and to gain insight into her teaching in New York.
