20th December, 2010

K.W.Doggett Fine Paper launched its 2011 calendar on 8th December at The Compound Interest, Centre for Applied Arts in Collingwood.

This year, K.W.Doggett Fine Paper collaborated with the Jacky Winter Group who chose 12 talented artists to illustrate the calendar and bring it to life. The calendar project gives K.W.Doggett Fine Paper a chance to work and engage with young talent, while contributing to the communities it works in. It also gives artists a platform to showcase their creativity with a live commercial project. For 2011, the brief was to get crazy, experiment, and push the design and print boundaries. The result is a colourful, fetching and witty calendar that is a play on dog related phrases.

"It was a great privilege to work on the calendar this year, and I was very impressed with the range of responses that our group was able to come up with. I'm especially happy with the format which allows the calendar to live beyond the usual 12 months of use. It's great to be able to have contributed to such a longrunning project, and I salute K.W.Doggett Fine Paper for their enduring commitment and courage in supporting emerging talent," said Mr Jeremy Wortsman, Director, The Jacky Winter Group.

Catherine Doggett, Marketing Manager at K.W.Dogett Fine Paper is also impressed by the illustrations.

"We're always blown away by the fun, kooky, hilarious ideas the students come up with. This year is no exception. As a family business, we love working with young artists and watching their ideas evolve, and the end result is always impressive. The calendar release is a highlight for our staff and clients each year."

Over the years, K.W.Doggett Fine Paper has commissioned the calendar in various States including Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and for the first time next year, South Australia. The team will be dropping in to see their clients with a copy of the calendar in the lead up to Christmas.

The paper used for the calendar is HannoArt Silk 200GSM and Knight Smooth White 200GSM. It's printed in six colour Hexachrome, with an overall sealing varnish. The cover is Kaskad 270GSM and comes in various colours including Kingfisher Blue, Bullfinch Pink, Fantail Orange, Oriole Gold, and features a silver holographic foil.

The Jacky Winter Group, named after the adorable native Australian Robin, is an independent Australian creative agency. The Hatch is a group of artists either starting out in their career or looking for a change. They are all hand-picked by the Jacky Winter Group.

K.W.Doggett Fine Paper is an independent, family owned paper merchant specialising in creative paper solutions for the print and design market. Started in 1975 by Ken Doggett, the company now has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.
