Workshopped 10 - Submissions Open
28th March, 2010
WORKSHOPPED started in 2001 with five designers and a small but well-received exhibition, WORKSHOPPED 01. This year's WORKSHOPPED 09 was our best ever, with 30 designers exhibiting, including Akira Isogawa, Gary Galego and Charles Wilson.
WORKSHOPPED looks for designers ready to take their ideas through to production, whether limited edition or mass production, and irrespective of production method.
The design should be original and desirable, and also the kind of product everyday people can take home and live with.
WORKSHOPPED looks for designers that have identified and considered the issues relating to production, whether limited or mass production and irrespective of the production method. And most importantly design that might be desired, taken home and lived with!
Designers show their products for the first time on home ground in our annual Workshopped exhibition. We're always looking for the next product that we can help bring to market.
This year's exhibition will be one of the single largest events of Sydney Design 10, hosted at Chifley Plaza and co-presented by the Powerhouse Museum. More than 1,000 invited guests from design, architecture, manufacturing and media will be attending the Opening Night. WORKSHOPPED, 10 years of design and innovation. Workshopped 10 is FREE to the public open from 4 - 14 August 2010.
This years theme is:
"Great design endures, demands attention and is fit for purpose."
Workshopped has grown into one of the largest attended events on the Australian design calendar. the 10th exhibition itself will exemplify ENDURANCE, ATTENTION and PURPOSE.
