Legal Q&A - Copyright
22nd March, 2010
Q: "Can you please advise on the following request from my client, regarding their new logo design.
"Can we ‘purchase' the copyright, what is the normal fee?
Once purchased, will we have full ‘rights' to change or add things to the original logo design?"
Your help is much appreciated."
A: You can purchase an assignment of the copyright for a fee. The fee payable is subject to negotiations between you and the author. We can assist with this process if you provide further information.
Once copyright has been assigned to you, you will have full rights to exploit it as you see fit. More
