"In this extract from The Design Manual, AGDA ACT member David Whitbread discusses environmental issues as they relate to graphic design studios - and gathers together a list of some practical measures you can take to make your practice more environmentally friendly. And, as you'll see, we've moved beyond recycled paper and recycling and into consideration of your supply chain and power sources.

Consider some basic practical action you can take to help conserve resources. First, simply ask whether what you're producing should be produced at all and, if so, whether it should be produced in a printed form. Screen-based publishing - particularly on the World Wide Web - is a viable alternative if your intended audience has access and will find or seek your message. There are increasing expectations that much information will be available in this way."
