‘State of Design’ Launches Public Program
22nd December, 2009
Following the success of the 2009 State of Design Festival, the Victorian Government will be launching a public program, ‘Design for Everyone' in 2010.
Running from the 14th till 25th of July, the festival will focus on generating innovation, promoting sustainability and adding value to business and society, as well as aim to promote the value of design as a tool for the creation of sustainable and competitive industries and communities.
There will be four key programs:
> ‘Design for Everyone'
> ‘Design Capital'
> ‘Design:Made:Trade'
> ‘Premier's Design Awards'
These programs aim to interest a broad public audience, giving an opportunity for individuals, organisations and businesses to demonstrate how design is improving living conditions, creating sustainable development opportunities, increasing commercial advantages and generating new and innovative products and services.
The State of Design Festival is now seeking expressions of interest for public exhibitions, projects, installations, seminars, workshops and creative events to be included in the 2010 ‘Design for Everyone' program.
