Through the theme of ‘Optimism', Icograda Design Week in Brisbane, October 11-17, 2010 aims to promote dialogue on issues shaping the nature and relevance of communication design practice today.

Optimism 2010 will recognise the valuable contribution designers make to delivering benefits and results for business, community and culture. It will showcase businesses that embrace the power of good design to gain a competitive edge. Icograda Design Week in Brisbane 2010 will provide a platform for conversation regarding design-led thinking and consciousness for a changing world.

Optimism 2010 in Brisbane aims to inspire, challenge and engage, to provoke thinking, and to create change.

Whatever colour, form or function ‘Optimism' means to you, join designers and colleagues from around the world in celebration of creativity, communication and collaboration.

About the event
Optimism: Icograda Design Week in Brisbane 2010 builds on the established AGDA national conference and biennial awards programme with a built in audience of 450.

International Conference
This two-day event will showcase current topics and their everyday practical applications. The international conference is expected to attract 700 design professionals, including business and policy leaders, CEOs and senior management from design agencies in the Australia and Asia-Pacific regions. The full programme for the conference will be available online by the end of 2009.

Education Workshop
2010 is the tenth anniversary of the Icograda Education Manifesto. The planned event programme includes a one-day student workshop.

Icograda Stakeholders Meeting
Icograda Members and invited stakeholders will exchange information on the state of design policy and promotion.

Design Trade Fair
Discover the latest products and services from manufacturers, retailers and our event partners. Delegates, presenters and sponsors will have free access to the Design Trade Fair. The Icograda Design Trade Fair is the B2B event attracting:

Event venues
Optimism: Icograda Design Week in Brisbane will take place at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, located on the South Bank riverside in the heart of Brisbane.

The opening reception for VIP guests and the delegates will be hosted at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) - Queensland's premier visual arts institution and a leading art museum nationally.
