
Three Icograda Design Weeks announced

Vancouver, Madrid and Brisbane will be the three locations for Icograda's 2010 Design Weeks.
Organised to promote dialogue on issues shaping the nature and relevance of
design practice today. The 2010 Icograda Design Weeks are connected by the general theme of design and business. These events will be an excellent opportunity to network with design professionals, educators and high level executives operating within the design field.
April 2010 - Vancouver, Canada
Host organisation: Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC)
The Icograda Design Week in Vancouver will explore the various levels of identity as it relates to processes, sustainability, economy, innovation, change and authenticity in communications that help define who we are and where we are going as a culture. A host of world-class speak ers, exhibits and forums will provide a variety of perspectives and experiences during Design Week in Vancouver that will result in a world view that better equips designers, businesses and governments to tackle social, environmental and economic challenges.
June 2010 - Madrid, Spain
Host organisation: Spanish State Agency for the Development of Design and
Innovation (ddi)
The overall theme of the icogarda Design Week in Madrid will focus directly on design and business, featuring case studies from Spain, Europe and other parts of the world. The aim of the programme is to showcase best examples of how good communication design, properly managed and integrated into a company's strategy, can produce positive results, not just in economic terms, but in a wider sense that encompasses intangibles such as better brand image and the efficient use of resources.
October 2010 - Brisbane, Australia ( Australia and Pacific, Asia)
Host organisation: Australian Graphic Design Association
Through the theme of optimism, The Icograda Design Week in Brisbane aims to provide a catalyst for change in the Australian design industry by communicating the power and value of communication design, address the concept of sustainability at various levels and promote the value and contribution of communication within an economic context.
