A Party in Melbourne Calls All Designers

Twelve months of work is finally coming down to a few days - some aspects are flying by, while other parts are like watching the kettle boil.

The party and event is the kettle, it is funded directly by ticket sales - there is no secret party fund, or profit centre - so we are on the hustle, ringing the bells, sending out our best to flog tickets.

Meanwhile, over in Collingwood, Ryan (Guppy) and Dom (Bartolo), at 21-19, are making work, finding the detail and sending it out for production, all on a shoe string.

What has been key in communicating the ADB, is capturing all the voices of our sector, creating insight and messages from this content. Ryan without fear, sought a range of views and ideas from designers outside of AGDA and dared to call us wankers, Melbourne a shithole, and acknowledged a space beyond AGDA - some became unsettled, while others have enjoyed the honestly, the clip, the thrift, and connectedness. The voice that Ryan found from the edges and spaces along the way from committees, is welcome.
