AGDA Annual General Meeting
24th September, 2012
On October 30th, AGDA Councils throughout Australia will host their respective Annual General Meetings (AGMs).
The key agenda item will be Council elections. Each State Council is made up of a minimum of six and a maximum of ten elected Councilors, of those councilors four are nominated into roles of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Two State Councilors are nominated to act as State Representatives to sit on the National Council. Any Member who wants to participate in a more direct way in the success of AGDA, now is the ideal opportunity to raise your hand and send in your Nomination Form.
While many may see the AGM as a formality, it really is a chance for members to give honest feedback in an open forum. As a member, it is your chance to participate in the decision-making process of your AGDA council and have a say in the direction they take for the year ahead.
For this reason, I encourage you all to turn up for your local AGM and participate. For those of you who can't be there on the day, you can still be involved by returning your Proxy Form.
For AGDA to truly be the voice of our industry, it is essential that our members are actively involved in how we operate. Joining your local council is one way for you to make a difference in your industry, but just being part of the process is also important. The AGM is your chance to have some input into what we do, whether by discussion, running for election, voting in person or by proxy.
