'Cultivator' Mildura Conference 2012 - Back to the Future of AGDA
4th September, 2012
Cultivator Regional Creative Conference (Mildura) (VIC)
Date: 12th October 2012
Time: 9:30am - 4:00pm
Cultivator brings together creatives, students, business and community leaders to inspire creative thinking to solve problems, grow potential, open minds and build regional capacity through creativity.
In 1988 Mildura hosted the inaugural Asia Pacific Design Conference. It was at this conference that a group of like-minded designers combined with the drive of Arthur Leydin led to the formation of the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA).
Drawing inspiration from this visionary group, as well as from the town of Mildura itself, another group of like-minded individuals came together twenty-two years later to create the Cultivator Regional Design Conference in 2010. The conference was an opportunity for creative people who originate or operate in regional Australia to present and share their passion, inspiration and journey.
Reframed and renamed in 2012, the Cultivator Regional Creative Conference continues to value the importance of creative design and thinking, encouraging students, educators and creative professionals to realise their potential and influence in their communities. Cultivator is a non-profit organisation. All members of the community are invited to attend, be inspired and share the journey. This year's theme is "Social Inclusion Through Creative Thinking".
