AGDA 2011 Poster Annual Wrap Up
31st October, 2011
AGDA Poster Annual 2011
The AGDA Poster Annual is a celebration of the grace and tactility of the poster medium and its power to engage and motivate. In 2011 curator Mark Gowing invited entrants to be inspired by the culture of music to create ideological posters that represent their personal outlook. 46 finalist posters were exhibited at the Gaffa Gallery in Sydney during October. Also featured were 30 works by the esteemed jury, consisting of Stephan Bundi (Atelier Bundi), Ken Cato (Cato Purnell Partners), Kjell Ekhorn and Jon Forss (Non-Format), Eike Koenig (Hort), Fanette Mellier and Chen Zhengda.
The exhibition was accompanied by a detailed catalogue and thanks to Ligare printing and Spicers Paper every AGDA member and every Poster Annual entrant will be receiving a copy of the catalogue for free. For everyone else, the catalogue will be for sale on the AGDA website in the coming days.
Heartfelt thanks goes to our generous supporters without whom none of this would have been possible. Thanks to Ligare for printing the hardcover catalogue as well as the promotional collateral. Thanks to Spicers for providing all of the paper for the collateral and catalogue (including the fancy Tyvek cover). Thanks to Desktop Magazine for all their editorial support. And big thanks to Digitalpress for lovingly printing all the exhibition posters.
Most of all thanks to all the designers whose creative efforts made this event a pleasure.
