Droga5 Spreads Creative Spirit

28th October, 2011

Creative agency Droga5 has launched a national campaign called Creative Spirit, which collaborates with a number of agencies encouraging employers to hire a disabled person full-time.

The campaign, which launched on Friday 28th of October at the Caxtons Awards, has already gained traction with five agencies on board. The agencies signed up to the campaign include The Monkeys, Shine, Frost, Nylon and Droga5.

Lion account director Liz Ainsley said: “Since the launch at the Caxtons we've had masses of enquiries. We hope that by 2021, every creative company in Australia is hiring someone with a disability, which means more than 32,000 sign ups in 10 years.

“As an industry, the creative community is woefully under-represented in employing people with disabilities, and we need to change that. If you knew how much a job can change the life of someone with a disability, how it can provide them with a purpose, give them dignity and make them feel as though they truly are part of this community, then you just wouldn't hesitate.”

A website has been set up to showcase the campaign. It will also be promoted through word of mouth and Droga5's contacts in the industry, along with coverage on Mia Freedman's Sky News program MamaMia.
