International Food and Beverage Creative Excellence Awards

The 9 International Food And Beverage Creative Awards - The FAB Awards - is now open for 2007. The FAB Awards are the only International Creative Awards programme in the world focussed solely on creative work done for Food and Drink brands. It recognises the critical contribution that outstanding creative work makes to building brands, it identifies and rewards the leading practitioners from over 60 countries, and it acknowledges their contribution to their Clients and their Agencies. Last year the awards attracted nearly 3,500 pieces of work from over 62 countries. Entries were judged by Creative Directors from around the globe.

World Design Capital 2010® competition launched

The International Design Alliance (IDA) has opened the World Design Capital® (WDC) 2010 competition - a biennial international event created to showcase cities in recognition of their design excellence and their focus on design as a driving force for economic, social and cultural development. For the winning city, the WDC designation is an opportunity to share with an international audience its commitment to integrate the many facets of design into the city's strategic development and provide a platform to demonstrate the merits of design as a sustainable factor to the betterment of the quality of life for its citizens. The project is being led by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) on behalf of the IDA.

2007 ED Awards opens Call for Submissions

The inaugural European Design Awards is calling for submissions. The ED Awards is the comprehensive annual awards organisation acknowledging the best in European graphic design, illustration and multimedia design. It is based on the collaboration of twelve prestigious communication design magazines in Europe who support and promote the event - 2+3D, CAP & Design, +design, etapes, Eye, IDPURE, Items, KAK, Lineagrafica, novum, TYPO and Visual. Representatives of these magazines will compose the jury.

The event has been endorsed by Icograda and is being sponsored by Corbis and HP.

The church had a wish that their 450-year anniversary symbol would be related to water. Water is an important symbol of life, and the congregations are located at the lake area of Finland. The image refers to a local speciality, a bread with little fish baked inside. In this way the logo combines the biblical themes of water, bread, and fish with the region's traditional dish.

The program for INDEX: 2007 is in the making. Director of the program for INDEX: 2007 is architect and designer Lise Vejse Klint. The ambition for INDEX: Summit in 2007 is to show how the many very different User-centered Design & Innovation methods can play not only a part, but as Lise states it "a crucial part" in solving some of the problems ahead of us on a global level. These problems also fit into the main focus of INDEX: which is Design to Improve life.

Kyoorius Design Magazine: Call for submission of work

India’s Kyoorius Design Magazine covers  all form of visual communications including press, poster and online ads,  brochures, identities, books, magazines, movie and music packaging,  websites, illustrations and more. It brings together the most  recent  exciting works in one magazine.

For the launch issue an initial  3000 copies were printed. Due to overwhelming demand, additional 2000  copies were reprinted. It is circulated to the members of the local and  overseas creative industry, and also to corporate clients and members of  the press.

British Design Council launches new website

The British Design Council, an associate Member of Icograda, has relaunched their website. The new site features a completely refreshed user interface and updated content. Case studies, design statistics, directory information and current issues influencing UK design policy are available from easy access through the new homepage.
