Call for entries: HKDA Awards 07 "Design. No Junk Food."

Organised by the Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA), the HKDA Awards has been a who's who of design excellence in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific for over 30 years. It is a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary award for professional designs in the fields of graphic, product, spatial and new media. The theme of the HKDA Awards 07 is "Design. No Junk Food." It is a statement on the value of design, and a trumpet call to all professional designers throughout Asia Pacific bring forth your works of excellence to this longest-standing platform of acclaiming exceptional design solutions in the region.

Graphic Responses: Call for entries

The Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition is sponsoring an online exhibition of poster solutions dedicated to this spirit entitled "Graphic Responses". This third biennial exhibition will be held in concurrence with the 15 CIIPE. We intend to make this work available to an unlimited international audience through internet access.

Addicted to design: Yodex 2007

Established in 1982, Young Designers' Exhibition (YODEX) has become one of the largest design fairs of its kind, featuring talented works created by graduates of design colleges all over the world. This year, 2007 YODEX will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) in Taiwan, from 17-20 May 2007.

Icograda Member Associations are invited to nominate persons who are members or officers to stand for election to the Executive Board for the 2007-2009 term. Elections will take place at the Icograda General Assembly 22 from 25-26 October 2007 in La Habana, Cuba.

Design for All India is planning a special issue of its newsletter dedicated to Graphic Design and Design For All. All the articles should be in Microsoft Word format with supporting images (if required) in JPEG format. The central idea of the article should be on Universal Design/ Design For All/ Inclusive Design/ Barrier-free Design. Creative Voice: raising global awareness

Creative Voice is a new website raising global awareness about social issues through creative expression. With so many issues happening around the world affecting our daily lives, life as we now know is changing. It is time for the creative people of this earth to have a voice, to share their concerns and opinions and to let everyone know that "we care". Just because you're an artist, designer, illustrator, etc doesn't mean you can't have your say about the global issues happening around us. Politicians, celebrities and public figures say their views about important global issues like Global Warming, so now it's time for all the artists' of the world to be heard through creative expression of these issues.

SEGD names Fellows for 2007

The Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) announced the selection of Chris Calori and David Vanden-Eynden, founders and principals of Calori & Vanden-Eynden/Design Consultants in New York City, as the 2007 SEGD Fellows. C&VE is an internationally-recognized, award-winning design firm specializing is the planning and design of signage, wayfinding, and identity programs for a wide variety of facility types. Fellows are selected for promoting the highest values in environmental graphic design, and significantly contributing to the direction and growth of the field. Past SEGD Fellows include Garry Emery, Richard Poulin, Wayne Hunt, Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, Ivan Chermayeff and Tom Geismar, and Massimo Vignelli.
