Good 50x70 /// 2009 - Winners Announced
29th May, 2009
Now in its third year, Good 50x70 - The ‘Project That Helps Social Communication' has recently announced a shortlist of 210 posters, from a best ever number 4210 of entries. All the judges agreed the standard of entries was significantly higher than previous years.
Good 50x70 is open to all creatives and designers and anyone who is inspired by the brief. This years brief focused on: child labour, climate change, healthcare deprivation, HIV/AIDS, nuclear emergency, war on terror and women's rights violations.
The competition was created in order to make a stand against collective apathy. Good 50x70 is an independent, non-profit initiative with the aims of promoting social communication within the creative industry, to provide charities with a free database of communication tools and to inspire the public through graphic design.
This year's judges included: Timo Berry, Woody Pirtle, Leonardo Sonnoli and Massimo Vignelli, among others.
The shortlisted posters are available in the Gallery on the Good 50x70 website. All posters become part of the Good 50x70 database, whether they've been shortlisted or not, and are available for use by any charity that wishes.
Now that the 210 shortlisted posters from this year's contest have been announced, the organisers are launching the next cycle of Good 50x70's exhibitions in 2009. The first exhibition will be held, as is now traditional, at La Triennale Gallery in Milan. The exhibition opens on 19 June and runs through 12 July.
