Russell Tate on...

How did you become a Getty Images and iStock contributor?
I’d been using the site for a while as a customer and one day I saw the contributor’s button and thought, “Hey, let’s give this a go!”.

Who or what inspires you most?
People with great creative skills.

What interests you about content creation?
Avoiding ‘chromatic aberrations’ (colour fringing). I used to get a lot of files rejected for that.

What’s been your most challenging assignment? Working as a freelancer and paying a mortgage while feeding kids.

What’s been your most exciting or interesting assignment?
Hiring a helicopter to shoot a visual reference of The Rocks and Circular Quay.

How do you think photographers benefit the community?
They give a unique view on life – it would be mundane without them.

What do you do when not working?
Dabble in motion graphics, 3D printing and decal making.

If you could invite one person to dinner (dead or alive), who would it be?
Paul Weller
