For a studio, the most important design resource is the right people. Their individual and combined talents and expertise translate into your competitive edge. To lose a key person—Ach! The real and hidden turnover cost can be 'orrible. Add in the effects of customer impact and knowledge migration, and [sigma] sheeeeshhh! Fortunately the 'best' people are discerning. While money talks, they know it ain't everything. Personal and professional satisfaction, challenges, responsibility, recognition—and just plain enjoyment—all play a part in motivating for great work and studio stability. The expert will talk.

Vicki McKay
Managing Director of Dux Creative Consultants since 1989. In 1995 the Dux Permanent Placement division was officially launched as more and more clients sought to employ Dux Freelancers as permanent staff. Today Dux is a well-recognised brand, employing 6 full-time staff, working with a large diverse team of Freelance, Contract and Permanent staff. Since July 1, 2000, Dux has placed over 250 Designers and Digital Finished Artists into permanent positions.

Prior to Dux, Vicki has worked as a designer and account manager for a variety of Design studios such as Les Mason Graphic Design (3 yrs), Imagistics (2 yrs), Standish & Weatherhead (4 yrs) and Russell Jackson Graphics (2.5 yrs).

Vicki's presentation will cover:

The AGDA Victoria Annual General Meeting will precede this seminar at 6.30. All members are invited and welcome to have a say. Those who nominate and successfully gain a position on council will be offered free admittance to this seminar.
