I grew up here in Sydney but have been fortunate enough to do some travelling between projects around the Middle East, where I developed a passion for Arabic type, calligraphy & traditional Eastern design elements.
I recently started a project at azaan.com.au which features some of my work and photography. So far the feedback has encouraged me to pursue it more seriously & commercially. Do any AGDA members have experience with Arabic type, either locally or abroad? I'm particularly interested in bi-lingual branding and design activity in Dubai/Middle East. I'm sure there are many similar cross-cultural design explorations happening around the world, are there any experiences to share?
