The AGDA National Biennial Awards has become the authoritative platform for design excellence.
It is with pride and pleasure that the inaugural AGDA Student Awards are incorporated within the AGDA Awards program this year.
HOW TO ENTER
Please ensure that the following items are completed:
- Conditions of entry
- Checklist
- Methods of payment
- Categories to enter
Read and understand the Conditions of Entry. Check with your lecturers and/or tutors for clarification.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Eligibility
- Full-time or part-time students enrolled in a federally accredited higher education institution from 1st January 2004 to 30th June 2006 are eligible to enter the AGDA Student Awards.
- Work submitted must have been produced in response to briefs set during the education and training programs.
- The Education and Training institutions must be cognizant of the submissions.
- Work produced for a commercial application, publication or installation are not eligible for entry.
Deadline
All entries must be emailed by 18th September 2006. Entries received after this date will not be accepted.
CHECKLIST
Before submitting the entry, please check the following:
- Correct File Format as stipulated
- Correct File Name as stipulated
- Completed Entry Form
- Completed Declaration by entrant and institution representative
- Correct Payment
- Completed Payment Summary
- Email PDF
CORRECT FILE FORMAT
Printouts, slides and transparencies will NOT be accepted.
Please attach and email images in the following format:
- Adobe Acrobat Screen/Standard PDF
- File size should not exceed 1MB
CORRECT FILE NAME
Each PDF file must be named according to the instructions stipulated. You must include the following information in the PDF file name for each submission:
- Category number and letter. For example
- a POSTER entry should read: 2d
- a 3-D PACKAGING entry should read: 4a
- The name of your entry. For example
- a Poster for Big Day Out (client/event/service/product)) should read: 2d_BigDayOut
- Your first-name initial plus your surname in full. For example
- the name Paul Smith should read: PSmith
The file name of your entry should read: 2d_BigDayOut_PSmith.pdf
COMPLETED ENTRY FORMS
Fill in an Entry Form for each entry that you are submitting. An entry can consist of a single item or a group of items that belong to the same range or series*.
Post your Entry Form or forms together with your Payment Summary to:

COMPLETED DECLARATION
All the entries must be original creations or property of the designer, design institution or any individual submitting the design piece.
Entrants/institutions declare that they are owners of the designs; that no rights of third parties will be infringed by their publication; that they grant AGDA the right to reproduce their entries for publishing, display or exhibition.
CORRECT PAYMENT
AGDA Student Member:
Free for the first entry
$5 for subsequent entries
Student Non-member:
$30 for the first entry
$10 for subsequent entries
AGDA Membership Special Offer
If you join AGDA as part of your entry process, you will be eligible to enter your work at the AGDA membership entry rate.
Simply download a Membership Form from the AGDA web site at http://www.agda.com.au/join or telephone 02 9955 3955 for details.
Your AGDA membership must be paid by a separate cheque or credit card entry; do NOT include your membership fee in your Awards entry fees payment.
COMPLETED PAYMENT SUMMARY
- As an entrant, you only need to send ONE Payment Summary.
- The Payment Summary is a listing of ALL your entries and fees paid.
- No EFTPOS payments will be accepted.
- Only credit cards to the value $50.00 or over will be accepted.
- If paying by credit card, simply fill in the Payment Summary with the credit card details and signature.
- Money orders and cheques are accepted. Please make the cheque or money order payable to AGDA National Awards.

EMAIL PDF ENTRY
- Click on to agdastudentawards@agda.com.au
- An email composition page will appear.
- Fill in the FROM: title section with your own email address
- Fill in the SUBJECT: title section using the same name as the one used for your entry, and according to the instructions stated in CORRECT FILE NAME.
If your PDF entry is named 2d_BigDayOut_PSmith, you must use the same name in the SUBJECT: title section of the email.
- Each entry must be sent as a separate email. 1 email per entry; 3 entries = 3 emails.
If you are entering 3 items in the same category, you must also send each entry in a separate email and name the file and the email SUBJECT accordingly.
- Optional paragraph of no more than 50 words can be included within the email - please check spelling and grammar if you choose to do this.
- Attach the PDF and click 'Send'.

Judges reserve the right to move an entry to another (more appropriate) category.
Entries can consist of a single item, or range/series* of items.

- Logo trademark, symbol
- Individual item (e.g. business card only)
- Range/series of implementation (stationery, signage, livery)
- PRINT - cover and spreads
- Brochures, catalogues, prospectus
- Annual reports, newsletters, magazines
- Books
- Posters
- Miscellaneous** - calendars, menus, invitations, greeting cards, t-shirts (stuff that does not fit anywhere else)
- DIGTAL MEDIA - urls, screen grabs
- Websites
- Games
- Motion or still graphics
- Miscellaneous**
- 3-DIMENSIONAL
- Packaging
- Signage (including way finding systems)
- Exhibition - displays, murals, installations, venue imaging
- CRAFT

* Range or Series
Two items or more that form a campaign, series or range.
** Miscellaneous
The last resort. Enter your work under this title if it does not fit any other title in the category. If you can't find a home for your work anywhere at all, please enter it into the Miscellaneous category 2e or 3d.
