The poster is for my exhibition Alphabet Naturel du Benin. The works in the show were created during and after my scholarship work period in West-African town of Grand-Popo in Benin. I made the alphabet using local natural materials. The point I want to make is that we don't need very much to get by.

Former Icograda Vice President named to Order of Ontario

On 24 January 2008,  Honourable David Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will invest 27 individuals in the Order of Ontario at a ceremony to be held at Queen's Park. This year’s honourees will bring to 460 the total number of recipients since 1987, when the honour was first presented. The Order of Ontario is awarded to Ontarians for excellence and achievement in any field. This year’s recipients include Albert Kai-Wing Ng – one of Canada’s best-known graphic designers, he founded the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario after a 10-year campaign for professional accreditation. This accreditation was the first of its kind in North America. Ng served as a Vice President of the Icograda Executive Board from 1995-1997.

Focused within the print and digital environments, the ideal candidates can engage students in developing a dynamic knowledge base by synthesizing research skills, critical and creative thinking, with generative methodologies. These candidates are able to facilitate student capabilities in innovative and strategic problem solving that stems from a nexus of artistic vision, formal craft, systematic structuring, and practical skills. Also, these candidates will foster a learning environment where students develop their cross-disciplinary and collaborative working skills.
