Stolen Lives is compelling documentary that combines personal stories with gritty, high-impact visuals to chronicle the tragic consequences of stealing cars. It is a powerfully honest production, designed to stop the tragedies of auto theft before they happen by educating youth about the link between drug addiction and auto crime in Canada.

One afternoon back in 1991, finishing up a few things before going home, sitting at a Pentagram desk in London (for many, a place unknown; for some, an icon of design; for me a unique site), my brand new job, the printer by my side started spitting out sheets of paper, one after the other without a halt. I raised my head to see who was still there.

27 April: World Graphic’s Day
27 April marks the birth of Icograda in 1963. It is celebrated by communication designers and design associations around the world. This year will be Icograda’s 44 birthday. World Graphic’s Day is an opportunity to recognise communication design and its role in the world. On this occasion, designers reflect and hope that our global network can contribute to greater understanding between people and can help to build bridges where divides and inequities exist.
On 27 April, we will dedicate our eNews issue to events around the globe to mark this occasion. If you are planning to host a World Graphic’s Day celebration, please send the information to the Icograda Secretariat.

Torino 2008 World Design Capital project is presented in Stockholm
On 29 March 29 2007, Stockholm’s Museum of Architecture hosted a seminar entitled “Torino 2008 World Design Capital, purpose and programme.” Giuliano Molineri, head of International Relations of Torino 2008 World Design Capital, and Robin Edman, Director of Svensk Industridesign, the Association of Swedish designers, were the presenters. Both are board members of Icsid (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design). Numerous requests were made for more information about World Design Capital – being managed by Icsid on behalf of the International Design Alliance (IDA) to designate a city in recognition of its use of design to further economic and social development.

2007 Midas Awards accepting entries
The Midas Awards is the only advertising and marketing competition dedicated to recognising work created for the financial services communications industry. In 2006, the international competition received entries from 31 countries around the world. Entrants include marketers from the banking, brokerage, insurance, mutual fund, credit card, real estate, accounting and consulting companies as well as professionals at advertising and marketing agencies, design studios and production houses.
