Icograda is pleased to endorse the The Hong Kong International Poster Triennial, a major event of the Hong Kong Designers' Association and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. The Triennial's goal is to document the development of international poster design and to celebrate its achievements at regular intervals. It is structured in 3 parts: a competition, an exhibition and a symposium. The "2007 Hong Kong International Poster Triennial" is the third time the Museum has organised the Triennial.

Icograda Education Network welcomes Stellenbosch Academy
Expressions of work and education in South Africa change so quickly that anything you write about them is redundant by the time the ink dries. "Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography aspires to conquer this uncertainty by producing graduates who are elastic enough to make a valuable contribution to the creative community they ultimately join," says Paul Thomas, Executive Director.

Shrinkage Worldwide Awards 2006 announced
The Shahneshin Foundation (SF) is pleased to announce that the distinguished jury of the 2006 Shrinkage Worldwide Awards 2006 after careful review and considered assessment of entries to find the award winners, has conferred the Honourable Mention to Emel Ardaman, Zeynep Aygen, Rami Bishara, Pallop Henpreserttae, Emran Hossain, Kitchai Jitkhajornwanich, Anton Legoo, Boris Ljubicic, A. Can Metin, Jacob Peel, Alaina Prokopchuk, Andrea Wilkinson, and Shannon Zandy.

Humanitarian International Design Organisation uses play to educate
Humanitarian International Design Organisation is a non-profit organisation (LOI 1901 HIDO), believing in the value and the importance of design. The organisation aims to improve the lives of people in Third World countries
who are lacking basic needs and vital information in order to be able to make the right decisions in life. Based on long-term solutions, the organisation will provide information and/or a product through development, relief and campaigning, to achieve these objectives. The organisation does not restrict itself to any particular geographic location.

INDEX: Award deadline extended to 20 December 2006
Nominations for INDEX: Award in 2007 have been flowing in from around the world since the nomination process started on our website. In the last couples of days we have been contacted by a lot of people who worried that they might not be able to comply with the deadline.
The deadline was thus postponed to give more designs a chance to be awarded with INDEX: Award – the biggest design award in the world.

Luba Lukova: Morphing on display at the Ice House Gallery

An installation called Morphing featuring the work of acclaimed artist and designer Luba Lukova is currently on display at the Ice House Gallery of Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ. The two-floor gallery exhibition presents more than 100 of Lukova's posters, prints and objects arranged in a flying three-dimensional installation.
Morphing showcases Lukova’s distinctive use of metaphors and symbols. She expertly blends human forms and objects to express elemental and universal themes that include love, envy, peace, war, hunger, and ecology. Whether by using an economy of line, color, and text to pinpoint essential themes of the human condition or to succinctly illustrate social commentary, her work is undeniably powerful and thought provoking. The rich simplicity of her images transcends language, culture, and politics.
The New York based, Bulgarian born Lukova has won numerous awards including the Icograda Excellence Award at the Poster Festival in Chaumont, France.
