Icograda honours Roy Clucas with Achievement Award
On 20 September 2006, Icograda presented Roy Clucas with an Icograda Achievement Award at the first annual think conference. Clucas is one of the iconic figures of design in Africa, who has been an active influence for literally generations of professionals engaged in design, very broadly defined.

Garth Walker contributes poster to Icograda Foundation fundraising efforts
The International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda) has unveiled a limited edition poster designed by Garth Walker of Durban's Orange Juice Design. Proceeds from the poster sale will benefit the Icograda Foundation, established in 1991 for the advancement of worldwide understanding and education through the effective use of graphic design.

Perugia welcomes AIAP, the Italian Association for Visual Communication
On Friday 6 October 2006, the Gallenga Palace of the University for Foreign Students of Perugia, will host the AIAP and the world of the Italian graphic and visual communication. The Association has chosen the town of Perugia as the ideal place for this year's meeting. There will be an unique opportunity for experts and designers to exchange ideas and to discuss the emerging trends in the area of graphics and visual communication with people from different disciplines.

BNO and DMN publish guidelines for design competitions
The Association of Dutch Designers (BNO) has drawn up guidelines for design competitions in association with the Design Management Network (DMN). By means of those guidelines, BNO and DMN aim to optimise the outcomes of design competitions, also known as pitches.

The Cooper-Hewitt is asking the public to participate in its annual design awards.

11 European Interaction Design Workshop

This winter, one of the most prestigious interaction design workshops, IDWS,
is looking for 14 talented design students (7 Turkish nationals and 7
non-Turkish nationals). This time, IDWS will host Spanish Researcher Anxo Cereijo Roibás who specializes in Interactive TV application. The workshop will explore suitable methodologies and techniques to design new scenarios defined by intersections between handhelds and other devices (e.g. iTV). It will also analyze crucial issues in the design of applications and interactive content in these contexts. IDWS winter workshops are part of the ERASMUS IP project 2006-2008 and has sponsored by Istanbul Cervantes Institute and British HCI Group.
