IIID Vision Plus 12
Information Design - Achieving Measurable Results

Call for Speakers
Deadline for Proposals: January 15, 2007
The IIID takes a broad, multi-disciplinary approach to information design. We welcome proposals from any practice area, including but not limited to the following:
- Educational initiatives, such as the idX project
- Information visualization: charts, info-graphics, visual problem solving, medical informatics
- Usability testing: methods and measurement
- Orientation systems: wayfinding, traffic guiding, and transportation information
- Information architecture: Web site design and navigation systems
- Instructional design: patient information leaflets, medicine labels, product use manuals
- Forms design
- Simplification of financial communications
Session Formats
The IIID seeks to build the program for Vision Plus 12 with various types of presentations and sessions, including the following:
- Keynote speech: a single speaker sets the stage with a thematic speech. (Speaking Time: 40-45 minutes)
- Podium presentation: a single speaker presents a paper. (Speaking Time: 20-40 minutes)
- Panel discussion: a moderator and 3-4 panelists discuss a topic. (Speaking Time: 20-40 minutes)
- Breakout session: a discussion leader conducts a small-group discussion usually during the lunch break. This is ideal for special interest groups. (Time for session: 45-60 minutes)
- Workshop: an expert conducts an in-depth training session on a specialized topic. The workshop leader is responsible for preparing instructional materials in advance. Time for workshop: 90-180 minutes.
