Corporate Design in the future
A talk with Kurt Weidemann
What will corporate design be like in the future? What do the old hands in the design business have to say, and how do the newcomers view it? Together with Daniel Karczinski and Peter Martin we would like to open up this debate and also initiate a discussion with you, the readers. Kurt Weidemann is the first to get the ball rolling, in this chat at the offices of Martin&Karczinski.

Do you exhibit your work?
Design exhibitions today take many forms and offer a lot of possibilities. Simply doing your job is fine, but exhibiting your work always makes for good advertising and adds that extra sparkle into one’s CV. We want to know how many of you send your work to design exhibitions.
Give your opinion and vote at http://www.icograda.org

Did you graduate in Graphic Design?
Nowadays there are many design schools available for prospective students. Yet, design being a rather young profession, many designers entered this field from other professions, such as fine arts, architecture or even marketing. We wanted to know how many of you have attended design schools or graduated in design or graphic arts.
These results indicate that a vast majority of designers today come from design or art schools. The percentage of you that graduated in design or graphic arts steeps to 8o percent, while 9 percent studied design but never graduated. Just 11 percent of you stated that you never studied design at all.
Did you graduate in Graphic Design?
I graduated in (graphic) design or graphic arts 80%
I attended design school but never finished it 9%
I never studied design 11%

Ekoplagat ´02 - the international triennale of issued posters on the problems of the environment and nature protection in Zilina/Slovakia
Povazska Art Gallery in Zilina, Slovakia
O: Mala Fatra National Park Administration in Varin
A: Sprava Narodneho parku Mala Fatra, 013 03 Varin, Slovakia
E: pochopova@sopsr.sk, kluvankova@sopsr.sk
The first Ekoplagat international exhibition took place in the Povazska Art Gallery in Zilina/ Slovakia in 1978. It was the first regular international event of this kind in the World. In the Ekoplagat, the ecological issues are considered in the whole extent of the context of the human life and the life of the society. The ethic of human acting, communication, scientific research, relations to everything living is more and more becoming part of them. All the moments of ecological changes are more markedly connected with the life of an individual, and vice versa, there is almost no human activity without ecological impact. It globally grows through an individual, and the question of ecological morale is standing before each of us. Designers can send up to four posters (in 3 signed copies) issued during the years 1999-2002. The International Jury will announce the Grand Prix, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize at the opening of the exhibition on October 1, 2002.
