E-Corporate Design
By Ulf Harr and Elke Ziegler

A logo is a logo is a logo. Or is it? With the integration of digital media into corporate communication and the presence of the computer and mobile assistants in all areas of (working and private) life, CI handbooks, too, are now having to be rewritten - at least in part. For example, a logo now has to be suitable for not only printing, but also for integrating in websites and CD-ROMs. Also, the employees themselves are becoming more and more autonomous in their design options. Now more than ever before, a CI has to be highly integration-capable.

Do we, as fellows of the same profession, communicate enough among ourselves?
Good communication is, many believe, the key to a comprehensive success; it entails both putting own ideas across and listening to the other party. International meetings, seminars and such like aside, we ascertained last week that there is always a need for a healthy exchange of ideas.

How should price lists of design associations be organised?
Having previously established that most of you consider official price lists provided by design associations quite useless, we then asked you how you thought they should be organised.

Judging by your answers, compiling an official price list is no easy task. Only small majority agree that the prices listed should simply represent a minimal professional standard, whereas the other options (by hours, by projects) have near-identical numbers of supporters.

How should price lists of design associations be organised?
By hours 31%
By specific projects 32%
They should simply represent a minimal professional standard 37%
