FAQ

(See also ADP INFO)
AGDA, ATDA (Australian Textile Design Association), DIA (Design Institute of Australia) and SIDA (Society of Interior Designers of Australia) have been working together for the last 18 months to see if it makes sense to unify all four associations into a single, multi-disciplinary design association.

The Australian Design Professionals (ADP) is the interim name for the unified body should unification take place. The project team's aim is to develop a proposal for a unified organisation and then have the members vote on it.

Research, analysis and option development by joint sub teams is underway in three areas:

    - Team A - Membership & Professional Practice

    - Team B - Administration & Structure

    - Team C - Finance

The Steering Committee for the entire project comprises the four national or federal presidents from each association and AGDA's General Manager.

All members have received 3 ADP Bulletins to date, and three interim reports are available to members wanting more detailed information (see below). The members Referendum is currently planned for late November.

We have a Forum where you can post your thoughts on this project and the concept of unification ("Australian Design Professionals"). Members can also download and print out Adobe Acrobat files of the three Interim Reports for more details.
